Anthony Sims is an interdisciplinary time-based performance artist whose mission is to embody black and queer experiences.  Being a queer man of color coming from the south, he looks for ways of pushing against existing norms of art to convey honesty through incongruity.  His work was primarily seen on the east coast. Anthony recently moved to Chicago to earn his MFA in Acting from the Theatre School at DePaul University.  He will be transferring to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for his MFA in Performance starting in the fall of 2020. He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre. He has directed and taught at First Stage Theatre in Milwaukee. Anthony was also an Acting Apprentice at Bay Street Theatre in NY. He has created several solo shows that have toured throughout the South East. He is a current Performance Art Apprentice at DFBRL8R Gallery. He has also performed at No Nation Art Lab.
