Simone Whiteley-Allen is a painter and performance artist based in Chicago, IL. Her work emphasizes memory, childhood, and sexuality through reenactments and abstractions that induce cathexis. The structure of Simone’s work transcends the space occupied by psychic energy and the body. She uses collaborations to engage with simple material, highlighting the nuances of individuality within a collective entity.

Simone draws from her background in dance and choreography, her early exposure to experimental theater, and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Oregon. She is currently earning her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Steven Emrich was born in 1998 in Evanston, Illinois, and has since moved to Chicago where he now lives and works. He is currently in his final year at the School of the Art Institute  of Chicago, where he will graduate with a focus in fiber art and sculpture in the Fall of 2021. Drawing from his relationship with memory and trauma, his life revolves around excavating and  digesting the wisdoms of his nervous system through learned movement, breath and body  attunement. The result is an art practice that is a concentrated byproduct of his body. He hopes to  continue to produce work that examines the profound knowledge our bodies hold us within and  to engage physically with his community in ways that further express the intimate connection  between body, mind and the earth.
