The Knitting Club is a collective of three multimodal artists : Rose Carr, Emma Rothman, and Flora Natalini. The three artists began collaborating simply as pals during their time at Hampshire College. They moved, sang, painted, sewed and dreamed together, and eventually participated in each other’s thesis performance pieces, finishing their respective degrees in 2017. These days Rose is in L.A., Emma is in D.C., and Flora is in Santa Fe. They are all dancing, creating and learning. They spent the last year meeting remotely and conceiving of a new collaborative work exclusively for Holly and the Neighbors. “Laundry Day” was shot in March, in Taos and Santa Fe, NM. It is an exploration of healing and motion, which asks the question: what do you do when there’s nothing to do?
